I was very taken with your recent series on passageways in Paris which seemed of very high quality from what I would assume are poorly lit areas. Could you give me some insight into your technique ie camera, use of tripod, post processing?

    Thank you.

I enjoy your posts which my wife found. We have visited Paris 5 or 6 times in the last 10 yrs and for some mad reason keep retuning.

      Hi Mark
please accept my apologies for taking so long to reply to you.

I use a Canon EOS700D and yes, you are right, unless it is a sunny day, where the light will come through the glass ceilings, they are often poorly lit. My best shots are when I use a tripod, I shoot in raw and use Lightroom for post processing.

I hope that that helps and thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment, keep returning and loving Paris, nothing mad about that at all.

I never realised that you had replied until today! Many apologies and thanks. My wife and I are briefly visiting Paris yet again in early June after our trip to Portugal, NW Spain and Bordeaux. Looking forward too it obviously.

          Hi Mark
I am sorry you missed my reply. I hope you have a wonderful time in Paris in June. I am not sure if you follow my facebook page but I post daily photos and tips on there too that you might find of interest.

          Happy travels

  • Hello, I love Paris and have been several times, but just for a few days at a time. In September this year I am going to stay for a month. I want to wander with no agenda, just find things I like. I will go through your archives for ideas, thank you.
We have a house in Italy, between Florence and Pisa, where I spend 6 months each year, the other 6 months in Brisbane.
Paris will be a delightful adventure.
